Left untreated, this disease eats away the face, head and torso of the fish, causing death. Breeding Tubercles on Male Goldfish When male goldfish reach breeding age, they display small, white bumps on their fins and gill covers. These are called tubercles and are perfectly normal.
Goldfish has lump or tumor In most cases the fish makes a full recovery just by eliminating the supersaturated gases from the water If the lumps on your fish are firm to the touch, and have a rough texture, your fish has warts. Warts are very common with goldfish and Koi, however, they’re easy to eliminate by using Sea Salt and Garlic Remedy.
A salt solution of 0.3% should work for most problems, I recently healed some smaller wounds on my moor and they went away in a few days with that dosage One tablespoon per gallon of water. It's quite a lot in a big tank or a pond, which is part of the reason why it's a good idea to keep the fish in a smaller tank, a 20 gallon should be an okay quarantine tank even for bigger fish!
My Golf Fantail, Herbert, has a large white bump on the top of his head. I was wondering how I could get rid of it? I have had him for roughly a year and he started getting the bump about 5 months ago. It started out as a small bump and has grown to be quite large (see picture).
Our goldfish has this big lump on his head. He's in a 30 gallon alone with a filter that hangs on the tank that is made for 50 gallons. All water levels are good as usual. We aren't sure when he got this or if he even came with it. We've had him for a couple of months from a petstore and today was our first time really getting up close enough.
Goldfish lump is often caused by super saturated gases. These increased amounts of oxygen found in tap water are caused by the pressure needed to make it from point A to Z. If not eliminated, these tiny bubbles can cause a lot of issues with our fish. The goldfish ingests these gases and even breathes them in through the gills.
Whenever you think a fish is having trouble it should promptly be seperated from your other fish as a lot of goldfish illnesses are highly contagious. This seperation will also allow healing of the affected fish without the other fish picking on it.
It’s easy to tell when a goldfish has a tumor. A small lump starts to grow on the fish, usually on the head or body. The growth may be pink, whitish or even black. It could be lumpy like cauliflower or smooth.
Usually, when a goldfish is floating on the water’s surface, it is a good indicator that he has died or that he is close to it. Goldfish tend to swim through the entirety of their tank, ranging from the surface to the gravel. However, it is when you notice that your fish is spending a lot of time near the surface that you may want to take notice.
I've got a molly with a strange orange growth on his head. He does have some light gold dusting, so I had thought the orange spot was just part of his color, but suddenly the spot has puffed up and there's no mistaking it for natural anymore. The spot has been there for a while, but it's only in the past day or two that it's suddenly puffed out and gotten large.
Koi Disease Diagnosis and Treatment Koi and goldfish are typically very hardy, robust fish and don’t often once become sick once they have settled into the pond. Occasionally, goldfish and koi disease occurs in ponds as fish fall prey to parasitic, bacterial or fungal attacks.
If they weren't always there it is probably ICK. You need to go to a pet store and get a treatment to put in the water. It will spread to all of the fish and it can be deadly. You will need to.
Lumps on a hamster’s mammary glands often appear on the sides or underside of the nipples. If these lumps grow fast or are hard to the touch, this could be a sign of tumor. Again, seek a diagnosis from a vet. Another type of lump on the mammary glad includes hamster mastitis.
